This is a lovely watch but it does not appear to be water resistent. Sadly this was the main reason for buying this watch. After my son had just one swim the light stopped working and then the watch stopped altogether. I have now returned it and am buying him a Slazenger watch which I know is waterproof as my daughter has one which has survived the swimming pool test.

Timex Youth T790514E Outdoor Black Fast Strap Watch

This is great watch, it looks good and is value for money. The previous review is misleading – you need to check what the water depth resistance actually means before buying ie you need a watch with at least 100 metres water resistance for swimming. This watch is only 30 meter water resistant so is not meant for swimming – as indicated in product information. Best leaving watches in the locker anyway!

Arrived on time. He loves it. Boy-ish without being too chunky. Simple to put on and take off, easy to read. No technical problems so far. Only slight drawback, my son is very skinny, (smallest in his class), and the strap is a little too long for him; not so long as to be a problem but a bit clumsy, so possibly not suitable for much younger kids. I bought it for my son’s 9th birthday. Arrived on time. He loves it. Boy-ish without being too chunky. Simple to put on and take off, easy to read. No technical problems so far. Only slight drawback, my son is very skinny, (smallest in his class), and the strap is a little too long for him; not so long as to be a problem but a bit clumsy, so possibly not suitable for much younger kids. I would certainly recommend it.

I wanted a watch to use for running, and this is perfect. It looks really good on – not too big but not too small with an easy to read face, and has a stopwatch, alarm and a light for when you’re training in the dark. It’s taken me a few goes to get used to all the different functions, but the instructions are very clear. I’d definitely recommend this, especially for the price!

I got this as a Christmas present and am so pleased with it. It looks really good and while the functions are basic (watch, stop-watch and alarm) it does what it needs to well.

I’m in my early 30s and it reminds me of my childhood as I had a Casio then so I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I look at it.

An initial concern I had was about the strap length based on some of the review comments but I have pretty thick wrists and it fits very comfortably. I’ve only had it a few weeks so cannot comment on any potential colour fade yet but overall this is a great timepiece I’m proud to wear and show off. Might even get myself another colour at some point. Well done Casio for updating a timeless timepiece!

It’s no surprise that this is number 2 in Amazon’s top 100 selling watches.

The F-91W is, of course a perfect watch. if you go any cheaper, the watch will break within a year, it’s the cheapest way of getting a robust, functional, accurate and reliable watch that is a design classic.

I assume that in due course the F-91WC – 4A2EF in Guantanamo Orange will outsell the black one because no one wants to clash while they’re being waterboarded!
